The top ten of the largest U.S. corporations

Here are the top ten of the largest U.S. corporations, this classification was developed by the magazine Fortune 500 and CNN Money. Not surprisingly, the winner of this ranking is Wal-Mart, companies linked to oil, the automobile industry as well as banks.

As can be seen in the top ten, all americans car companies have negative profits in 2008. The car sector is one of the most affected by the economic crisis and the banking sector. There are also two companies related to telecommunications in the top 100 who obtained negative profits in 2008: Sprint Nextel and Motorola.
